The MSc International Business programme enables our students to compare and contrast the practice of international strategic management in different business sectors, and within different cultural and economic contexts. Careers advice is embedded into your academic programme through workshops, events, placements, networks – working with the academic staff teaching on your course. We also offer materials, networks and resources online through our 24/7 portal, and a wide-range of activities, opportunities and support centrally in the Careers Service space within the Student Hub. The tuition fee for the course that is stated on the course webpage and in the prospectus will apply. If the duration of the course is longer than one academic year, we may increase the fee for each subsequent year of study but any such increases will be no more than inflation.

This module is concerned with the critical choices that organisations face in order to survive and gain sustainable competitive advantage in an international environment with rapid economic, regulatory and technological changes. To understand and critically evaluate these choices and their strategic dimension requires analysis of the environment in which multinational enterprises operate as well as the creation of know-how value at a business and corporate level. The module will provide foundations to develop entrepreneurial mind-set in the context of corporate level. In this regard, it entails various entrepreneurial activities on multiple levels including the individual, team, or organizational level. It provides you with knowledge useful for anyone aiming at working in the field of corporate innovation and entrepreneurship or at pursuing an entrepreneurial career.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants for the purpose of exemption from some professional examinations through the Accredited degree accelerated route. During your second year we will help you to deepen your understanding of research design, data collection and data analysis. This includes statistical analysis of survey data, interviews and observation in organisations. Fees for 2023 will be confirmed, subject to government approval, later in 2022. Like most universities, we operate extended teaching hours at the University of Derby, so contact time with your lecturers and tutors could be anytime between 9am and 9pm. Your timetable will usually be available on the website 24 hours after enrolment on to your course.

Organisations involved include Barclays, Deloitte, Procter & Gamble and Ernst & Young. In first year the best teams are selected to present to senior staff in one of the sponsoring organisations, and there are prizes for the best projects. External contributors from partnership corporate organisations are involved in teaching and/or assessment of student presentations. Along with this class, you’ll study two classes from your principal subject area. If you’re spending the second semester of Year 3 abroad, you’ll take an equivalent class in your exchange institution. The second year concentrates on developing understanding through industry-specific contextualisation.

Where courses have specific subject requirements, a score of between70%and90%would normally be required in a higher level exam. For students taking the European Baccalaureate, we typically require an overall average mark between 78% and 88% with specific subject marks (normally 8.0 or higher from a 4 or 5 period subject) required for some courses. The aims of this module are to equip students with an in-depth knowledge of the digital marketing, including social media.

Throughout this Masters in International Business you’ll develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills within the context of trading across national boundaries. By the end of the course you’ll have an expansive knowledge of how organisations operate across economies, currencies and regulatory frameworks. You’ll also become an expert in engaging with stakeholders from different cultures and working effectively with a multi-location team.

Holders of the Magistr Diplomi (Master’s degree) or Diplomi , awarded by prestigious universities, who have attained high grades in their studies will be considered for postgraduate study. Students who have completed the Candidatus Magisterii from a recognised institution will be considered for postgraduate study at Diploma and Masters level.
