If you opt for the full-time course, you’ll attend the University for 12 months, with between eight and twelve hours of teaching scheduled a week during both teaching terms and supervised study during the dissertation term.

You’ll also learn about core management and financial accounting, and develop practical management skills. Compulsory modules will explore current management ideas from a variety of perspectives. You’ll study how commerce, industry and technology have developed, within a broader social and historical context. This module focuses on such enterprises and explores the distinctive features of management in the SME environment. The module covers the fundamentals of managing SMEs and family owned small businesses in relation to leadership, strategy implementation, product development, innovation management, domestic growth and internationalisation strategies. Students will develop an understanding of the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship. Students will also look at the roles and contributions of entrepreneurs and SMEs to economies, and will consider debates around the provision of hard and soft government support for entrepreneurship and SMEs. The module examines the application of entrepreneurship across different domains, including the role of women, family businesses, ethnic minority businesses, and corporate ventures.

Candidates who have successfully completed a three year Bachelor of Science, Arts or Commerce degree with very good grades will be considered for entry to the first year of relevant Bachelor degree programmes. Students from Algeria need to meet the standard English language requirements for international students. Using exemplary innovation case studies students will first acquire knowledge of key terms and definitions of innovation research. The emergence of systematic innovation in the corporate environment will be discussed by studying the history of certain industries.
